Mint Hill, NC Real Estate Agent and Home Stager

What type of Que do you do?

What type of Que do you do?  Barbeque that is.  Here is North Carolina their are major divisions in opinion of what is real BBQ.  It's serious business, there is even a North Carolina Barbeque Society (I'm not making this up).  The goal of the society is to preserve North Carolina's history as the barbeque capital of the world.

Now depending on who you ask you will get different opinions on what the best type is. There is Eastern Style BBQ and Lexington AKA Western Style BBQ and it must be pork.  The main difference between the two:  the sauce, Eastern style is vinegar based and and Western style is ketchup based (sweeter).  In the East they cook the whole pig, the West only the pork shoulder.  Regardless of how you like your Que, slaw, hushpuppies and banana pudding are required sides.

BBQ

Now the North Carolina Barbeque Society has a map and locations of what they consider the best BBQ in the state. So if you currently live in North Carolina or coming to visit, and looking for a fun and unique way to see Carolina, try out the North Carolina BBQ Society Historical BBQ Trail.  I am sure it will give you an experience like no other.

If you live in Charlotte, NC the Annual BBQ Festival in Lexington, NC is something you have to do at least once.  Lexington, NC is 45 minutes to 1 hour North of Charlotte off I85.  The entire month of October is considered BBQ month with all kinds of activities and fun like: Hawg Ride (Harley ride), Softball tournaments, cycling, Golf Tournament, shooting Tournament and yes, lots and lots of BBQ.

So depending on What Type of Que you do, North Carolina has you covered.
